In 2011, Tissot began a partnership with the FIM Superbike World Championship (SBK), the leading production motorcycle racing series as Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. This partnership ensures that Tissot is the dominating force in the world of motorcycle road race timekeeping, covering both SBK and MotoGP.
With almost 500 million viewers worldwide, SBK is a phenomenally successful racing series, featuring wide open racing, some of the best riders in the world and non-stop fun.
World Superbike has races all around the world, including Australia, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, the United States and Russia in 2012. At all these tracks, Tissot handles all the timing and statistical information transmission for each race. It's an incredibly complicated responsibility, but one for which Tissot is eminently well-qualified, due to the brand's extensive experience as Official Timekeeper with MotoGP and other sports.
SBK is different from MotoGP -- where MotoGP features prototype machines, rather like Formula One, World Superbike is a production-based series, thereby making it more accessible to the casual fan and the motorcyclist.
Tissot is proud to be the Official Watch and Official Timekeeper of the FIM Superbike World Championship. In addition, Tissot presents the Tissot Superpole - the Saturday afternoon qualifying session that establishes the starting position of the riders in the main races.
In 2011, Carlos Checa won the FIM Superbike World Championship, which took place over 26 races in 13 venues.
The 2012 FIM Superbike World Championship will travel to 12 countries in the 14 round season, including a round in Moscow, Russia for the very first time.
The Tissot T-Race is a winner on and off the circuit. The bike-racing-inspired design details and dynamic style, with a little dose of flamboyancy colours, gets these models into gear and gives them an equally strong starting position. With the Tissot T-Race, Tissot’s passion for motor sport is accelerating into the fashion fast lane.
