The AFL season begins in March and ends in late September. 22 home and away rounds are played before the four week finals series begins, resulting in two teams playing for the Premiership. In the hotly-contested 2011 season, Geelong won the Grand Final, and 2012 looks to be just as action-packed and exciting.
