Steven Stamkos

Canadian professional ice hockey player

Steven Stamkos has Macedonian and Scottish roots and grew up in Ontario, Canada. Hockey was the natural thing to do in his town with all the facilities and equipment made available.

In 2008, after his successful two seasons playing in Canada it was obvious it was time to join the big time and he would be selected in the draft for the NHL. He was selected first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning. That year was the year he became our valued ambassador.

Stamkos joined up with Team Canada at the 2009 IIHF World Championships in Switzerland, in which he was nominated to the all-star team for being one of the top scorers after his team reached second place and were unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Russia in the final.

In 2010 he was winner of the Rocket Richard Trophy for the most goals scored in the NHL season.

2011 was a great year for Stamkos. He scored his first playoff goals and contributed to the team's victory against the Pittsburgh Penguins, leading them to the Eastern Conference Finals where they were defeated by the Boston Bruins.

Steven Stamkos is a nightmare for the goalies and is proving himself every season. It promises to be a great year in 2012, with Stamkos putting on a show on ice at every game.

Stamkos is enjoying working with Tissot and he values his limited edition watches. "I take pride in being a Tissot Ambassador," he says. "I'm honored to be a part of the family and hope I can be with Tissot for a very long time.

"I really enjoy my two Steven Stamkos watches," he continues. "They are very special to me. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would have my own watch, and now I have two!"

The Tissot PRS 200 Steven Stamkos Limited Edition 2013 is a sporty timepiece which exudes class. Its colour, which tips its hat to Stamkos’ Tampa Bay Lightning team, portrays a certain ease and simplicity, while its case and detailing do not fail to demonstrate its athletic nature. The traces on the dial evoke the way Steven Stamkos glides rapidly across the ice, keeping his options open as he builds tactics in his mind, shown by the many different lines. These qualities are what won him the “Rocket” Richard Trophy for the NHL’s top goal scorer two seasons out of three. The marks on the bezel are a reflection of the tension building as the 20 minute period expires. The decisive goal is marked at 12 o’clock, with the illustration of the puck on the bezel. This limited edition will also only be producing an exclusive 1’091 pieces that feature Steven Stamkos’ team number on the case back.
