Thomas Lüthi
2005 MotoGP 125cc World Champion
When Swiss watchmaker Tissot can support homegrown talent, it pulls out all the stops, as with the Swiss National Hockey Team and cycling's Tour de Romandie. As a result, Tissot is pleased to continue working with rising Swiss motorcycle racing star Thomas Lüthi.
2002 marked the real beginning Thomas Lüthi's road racing career as he raced on a 125 cc bike in the European Championship and achieved an amazing second place.
In 2011, Thomas Lüthi took up a new challenge and changed bikes from Moriwaki to Suter. He then reached even greater heights, outdoing himself again with four podiums and his first ever win in intermediate class as he crossed the finish line in Malaysia in first position.
Thomas Lüthi is definitely a top contender for 2012 although he will have to watch out for his number one rival Marc Marquez along with Bradley Smith and Andrea Iannone who are on top form and ready to fight with him for the title.
Lüthi knows how important it is to be associated with Tissot. "I am very proud to have been supported by a storied brand like Tissot for such a long time," he says. "Tissot is a great partner and of great value to me. Thanks to Tissot, I can concentrate fully on my sport. Motorcycle racing is all about time. As a racer, I am always hunting for the fastest possible time.
"Tissot and motorcycle racing have an awful lot in common and I like that a lot, things like precision, high-tech and innovation," Lüthi continues. "In particular, I like that fact that Tissot is always developing. The great thing about Tissot is that I can wear Tissot every day, whether I'm training or going out or in a suit, there's always a Tissot that fits my lifestyle. I have two favorites: the T-Touch and, of course, the Tom Lüthi Limited Edition.
TISSOT T-RACE THOMAS LUTHI 2013
T048.417.27.057.10
Tissot honours its ambassador by taking his personal logo as inspiration for the creation of this new piece, the Tissot T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2013. The watch stands for passion, which is all you need in order to achieve what you set your mind to. Thomas Lüthi’s nickel-plated thunder bolt reflects this on the black dial, igniting the piece, with yellow elements adding to the striking effect. Just like lightning, passion will strike in time with nothing to stop it. Further dashes of yellow are added to the minute track as well as the second hand, with an additional surrounding of his race number 12 which is further highlighted by bold lettering. The small details are what provide this piece with its undeniable and up-to-the-minute style. The racer’s team colours give it the sober aspect with its grey base and black stripes that represent the circuits where it all happens. No matter what your goals may be, the Tissot T-Race Thomas Lüthi Limited Edition 2013 will keep you right on track the whole way.
